It is a rare disorder and had caused me a lot of dizziness and balance issues. I will be starting valdoxan the day I cut to 75mg. I have multiple pills I take and fill them in a pill pack monthly. I'm scared to quit because I don't know what I might do if left in this crazed state for a long time.

In college and graduate school concurrently; I must take off my fall semester and find a way of support to get myself off this medication starting immediately this summer... after 3 days cold turkey one time I was about to physically die from the withdrawl effects - I could not get out of bed, kept hearing buzzing in my head, had a fever of over 102 and hot/cold spells.

I had major brain surgery for the removal of a large benign brain tumour in July 2014. I was determined to get off these drugs as I never needed them in the first place and had been misdiagnosed for 2 years. I'm currently on my 3rd day of no EFFEXOR (whoohoo) and I plan to call my dr office on Monday and request that medicine she told me about for nausea since my dr office was closed on Friday. I was on 375mg for most of that time. I had all the symptoms during the withdrawal that have been posted by other people here. but i was feeling so toxic on it that i'm willing to put up with this for a bit...its good to be able to read people's personal experiences with this horrible drug. LA. I've been on half pill for about 2 weeks and have been having a really hard time. I am terrified to attempt to wean off because of suicidal thoughts.

I went back to the Effexor 75s for about a month, then switched to Effexor 37.5. I definetly lost myself while on this medication. We have discussed this with his Dr. again. Many people have problems with the drug, like weight gain and increased symptoms of psychological stress. Effexor IR (immediate release) tablets come in 25mg, 37.5mg, 50mg, and 100mg doses, which makes the dose easier to control. I too have been trying to get off effexor and unfortunately went cold turkey thinking that 37.5 mg would be a piece of cake. A few years ago, I only paid $10 per prescription which was a tremendous deal at the time, but no more the last few years.

It made me burp and tasted fish the entire day! Due to a stupid mistake I stopped taking it one day because I couldn't afford the prescription for another week. Is there no justice? I feel like I am dying. I went to a new Dr. today because mine retired and he said there really isn't anything he can do except refer me to a shrink for medication management. I found that avoiding caffeine during this time helped a lot.

Good luckI have been on Effexor xr for 10 years , but I never went higher than 75mg once a day , I also take xannax xr 1mg, But last mth I dissided to stop the Effexor, I have a slight headache dizziness and short temperature, But I was taking it with the xanx. If no side effects continue to next step.

I think it's always caused fatigue but I took the bad to help me cope with short temper, anxiousness, hot flashes from hysterectomy, and lack of hormones. I was taking Loxalate and went off that with no noticeable side effects for 2 weeks before starting 37.5mg and then 75mg doses of Effexor. I take daily vitamins, fish oil, and B12 everyday. Soon enough that went away and now I feel better than I have in years. I feel free now. I'm also on Remeron for depression as the Effexor did nothing for me.Would you provide an update & if you experienced occasional symptoms. The anxiety, nausea, heart palpitations, mood swings, insomnia, hypo mania, etc etc are killing me. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy but it's much better than being on that nasty drug.
