None of it keeps my BP in check without a nerve medication to help me deal with the side effects. The day after I stopped it I noticed I had a little … I want my energy back. Within a matter of minutes,my breathing was compromised and it became a very serious situation for me. After reading that low blood pressure can cause these symptoms, I have decided to try stopping Lisinopril. I satisfied myself that ace inhibitors were a cause (?) My cardiologist suggested that I try garlic since my BP wasn't that high. If you can tolerate the discomfort, it’s a good idea to keep taking the statin as prescribed for at least 2 to 3 weeks. My question is can I stop taking it "cold turkey" or do I need to taper off? This phenomenon is known as the "nocebo effect," the opposite of the placebo effect. What side effects are you having?
